LED penetration in China automotive lighting market to rise to over 50% in 2020

LED's penetration in the global automotive lighting market will rise to 30% in 2020, and the proportion in China will increase to over 50%, according to Gaogong Industry Research Institute (GGII). The LED penetration for automotive tail lights alone in the China market in 2020 will exceed 85%, while that for automotive headlights will rise to 30%, GGII said. In 2017, LED models accounted for 15% of global automotive lighting demand, lower than 55% for halogen ones and 25% for xenon ones.
